D.U.M.B. Goals

Here's a great guideline I recommend to anyone who wants to appear as though they're trying to make changes in their life without actually having to make any progress.

You've heard of S.M.A.R.T. Goals right? Well, I call these D.U.M.B. Goals:

  • D -- Don't ask for help of any kind ever, no matter how tough it gets.
  • U -- Underestimate the level of personal commitment and sacrifice it's going to take to actually get there.
  • M -- Make fuzzy plans. Never set a firm deadline. Always give yourself an "out" in case you have a bad day, or month, or year. Or heck why not: a bad decade.
  • B -- Beat yourself up emotionally each time you fail.
D.U.M.B. or S.M.A.R.T -- The choice is yours.

LOL! These are great! And so true! Thanks for, as always, calling us to live our higher calling, our more authentic lives and selves, and using humor to get us there.

Um...what about middle ground? Is there something in between that's easier than S.M.A.R.T. and better than D.U.M.B.???
