David Eggers is one of those authors I particularly enjoy--in part because his writing style is so different from my own, and in part because what he writes about stretches and provokes me as a human being. If you haven't read his fictional(?) memoir A Heartbreaking Work of Staggering Genius...well, the title alone tells you you're in for a fascinating ride. But writing is only his day job: turns out he moonlights as a passionate advocate for students and teachers.
Recently he was chosen as a finalist for the TED prize, and was given the opportunity to share his dream at the TED Conference. It's a very, very good story, and I wanted to share it with you.
