29 Gifts in 29 Days

Sometimes the simplest ideas can transform your life. Here's one I found recently:

29gifts.org invites people to take on a simple challenge: To give away 29 gifts in 29 days, and then to share the story of what happened on their 29Gifts community site.

The motivation behind it all is simple: "Because to see your world change, you have to DO something to change your world."

Check out the video below to hear the story of the one person who started the 29Gifts Challenge as a simple project for her own life, and how it has exploded into a community of thousands. Just another example of how one simple choice to love can multiply to bring change and blessing to many.

I'm going to take this on myself. Starting today. And my first gift, day 1, is for you: I'm giving you this challenge, and inviting you to take it on with me. What better season than Christmas to take something like this on!

29 gifts in 29 days. What do you say?

so these are virtual gifts?

Hey Kari--

As I understand it, the gifts can be anything you want--material or otherwise--so long as they come from an intentional expression of giving. A encouraging word, a hug, an act of service, or a physical item. The only guideline given on the site is that at least one of the things you give away be something you feel like you can't live without.

like a child or something?

no seriously, like you can't live without? is that hyperbole?
what else have you given?

Kari--yes, it's hyperbole...give something you feel like you can't live without, not something you actually cannot physically live without.

I think you should watch the video; she explains the idea better than I could.
